Called whilst trekking the Dales Way. I had a large fish (ask for it) and a cup of coffee. Reasonable pricing (expensive in a lot of fish oyles these days) and well worth it. The fish was cooked fresh and I've not had one as nice in years. Batter was good and the folk behind the counter were great. Even asked if I wanted my water bottle topping up for my walk. If your doing the Dales Way, or near enough in a car... Try them out. Grand... Reyt grand

Fabulous food! Fresh cooked cod with the best lightest batter we've ever had. Great chips and curry sauce too! Extremely welcoming and friendly. Lovely and clean. Best we've ever had and a great price too! We were staying on the Camping and Caravanning Club Site 5 minutes away and would definitely recommend. Thank you

We’re visiting the area from London and we always love to find a proper local, high quality chippy. And we found it here at the Jolly Fryer. Authentic and honest customer service. We ordered haddock, chips, mushy peas and a jumbo sausage to share. What a delicious meal! The chips, had that perfect yellow mealy flesh that gives off a sweet flavour profile. Honestly, this place is legit and if you are ever around Kendal you really must come by for at least a bag of chips! Bring cash and support these lovely local businesses.

What a hidden gem! This place is extremely clean, has great customer service and some of the best fish and chips you'll ever have. All priced very reasonably too which is hard to find these days. 100% will be visiting everytime we are at the lakes

We are so glad we found this little gem! We had 3 very hungry little children and 2 hungry parents! So it made our day that the service we got was so amazing. We phoned up 10 minutes before they closed and we were 15 minutes away, they stayed open for us after we ordered via the telephone and had it all packed and ready for when we arrived. The haddock was absolutely delicious, so fresh and tasty! Everything was perfect, we can't thank you enough:) Staff were so kind and friendly to us.
